Yesterday's #1 draft pick in the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft, Stephen Strasburg told reporters he saw no use in studying the mistakes of past #1 picks and their mistakes.

Certainly I was no #1 pick, but really? You won't brush up on a little history and see what plagued these guys and worked against them in terms of major league success? I don't even know if that's cocky. I think it might be just dumb. Of course if he ends up being a complete stud, I'll be eating my words, but if I'm Stephen Strasburg, this statement only brings added pressure. Pressure he should be trying to avoid, not amass.
